Come enjoy story hour! Local authors will read their original children’s stories throughout the day.
Noon – Nikita Hattangady – Nikita’s book “We Are American” covers 37 countries and introduces the concepts of diversity and the melting pot to children today.
12:45 – Linda Dowdy – Linda wrote and edited over 200 Barney the Dinosaur books, printed in twelve different languages. “All Kinds of Kisses” is her first non-Barney title and is published by Scholastic.
1:30 – Herb D Trainer – In “It’s All About Choice: Getting Back in the Game!” , personal trainer Herb tackles childhood obesity through colorful fictional characters, an uplifting, empowering story and professionally produced rap songs.
2:15 – Carmen Konneker – In “My Father’s Quest: The True Story of an Orphan’s Journey” Carmen chronicles her father’s long and arduous journey through Mexico and the U.S. to find his younger orphaned brother and sisters from whom he was separated at the age of seven.
3:00 – Nina Marcussen – Using her musical talent, Nina leads an interactive program to involve children. She is also a Music Together teacher.
3:45 – Sanjiv Sinha – Sanjiv is the author of Alisha’s World and has created a resource for elementary school kids that encourages multiculturalism.
